TAKE IT OUTSIDE: OUTDOOR FUN Posted on January 4, 201720 Comments

By now you all know that the FantasticMrsMom family loves cheerleading, spoiling our pets, watching live music, traveling, and especially cooking and eating lots, and lots of great food. We are also a family that loves to play outside. I am Nathan Ebner, husband to Chrishelle Ebner and proud new Grandpa. Starting next month, I will be sharing some of our “ Outside ” memories, with lots of pictures of the kids and me. I am not a competitive person, and I am built more for eating than athletics, so my outdoor activities are low impact and family friendly. Take a look at what’s ahead:

 Family Fishing-Locations and Gear Tips

I have been an avid fisherman since I was old enough to walk. My son Nathaniel is my fishing partner. My two girls loved to go fishing with me when they were elementary age. But then they discovered the world of competitive Cheer, so now it’s just me and Nathaniel. Can’t wait for Aksel to join us!

4H Archery and Competition 3D Archery

Some of my very best memories are of coaching all three kids in archery. I truly miss those days. Santa Clause just gave Taylor a new crossbow, so we’ll take a look at that also.

Camping and Hiking

The South East is full of beautiful camp grounds and State parks. I’ll go thru our pictures with you and highlight some of our family’s favorite spots for overnight trips and day trips. And look at some must have gear to take along.

Kayaking Adventures

I’m talking relaxing, no white water involved. Georgia is full of beautiful beaches, large reservoirs, and scenic streams and rivers. I will do my best to help you pick out a kayak and destination that is just right for you.

Shooting Sports, Hunting

Wow, where to start! Hunting, target shooting, self-defense pistols, black powder shooting, paintball, airsoft battles; we’ll look at all of them.

Until Next Month…

I hope you enjoy reading each future post as much as I am going to enjoy sharing. My goal has always been to share each activity with my children, not to leave the kids at home on the weekends. So you won’t see expert, pro-level stuff, but you will see a lot of smiles. TAKE IT OUTSIDE with Fantastic Mr. Dad every month.

    1. Archery is a great sport. A very good place to start is your County 4H club, if it has a shooting sports program. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about a program or what gear is needed to get started. -Nathan

  1. Right now, getting outside here is brrr! We just got snow last night. These activities, tho, would be perfect for spring! Can’t wait to get back outside.

  2. This is such a great idea for a series! My family spends a lot of time outside, but there are so many that have no idea what to do in the outdoors.

  3. It sounds like your family enjoys the same things that my family likes to do as well. We love kayaking, fishing, hunting, and getting outside when we can. The problem is it is so cold here right now that we have to wait a couple of months to get back out there!

  4. I love to be outdoors and so do my kids. I have been wanting to take them camping for a long time now. I’m hoping we can go over the summer.

  5. My oldest loves to go fishing. It is just so stinking hot in Texas during the summer time. I loved spending time outdoors when I was a kid and the heat didn’t bother me as much.

  6. I’m a big fan of the outdoors! It has been ages and ages since I’ve been camping. However, I always look forward to going for hikes when the weather is nice and warm.

  7. We really love outdoors activities especially my kids. My husband and I planning to do hike this weekend. Im really exciting.

  8. I love taking my family outside to do some fun activities. I bet to do a camping, it would be difderent and bring so much fun adventure.

  9. Looks like you all had a ton of fun. I miss going outside it has been so cold here in Chicago. I can’t wait to do some outdoor activities when it warms up.

  10. This is such a lovely idea! My goal for the year is to definitely spend more time outside with my kids. My son loves the outdoors and he is always ready to explore.

  11. Omg so many fun activities!!! It’s so cold here in NY right now that I never want to go outside lol
