FALL BUCKET LIST. Posted on September 25, 201621 Comments

Fall bucket list? No I am not ill or see an end to my life as I know it. I was thinking the other day. We always have these elaborate plans on how to celebrate a particular season, weather it’s having a fire on the beach during summer or snow skiing in Tahoe in the winter. Always great plans, but very little follow through. I say not this time. This Fall we are going to carve pumpkins, roast marshmallows at a bonfire, and sip pumpkin spice lattes until we can no longer stand ourselves.

Maybe I am being a bit dramatic, but since I will soon be a grandma it seems I need to make those family memories that last a lifetime. My girls and I have been talking about all the best things about fall and some of the things they have been looking forward to for weeks. So, here it goes, my fall bucket list.

I have wanted to do this for the longest time. We always make plans, but the next thing we know the farms are closed for the season and our chance to out wit the maze is lost. Not this year!!! The whole family will be packing in the car for a trip to Sunny Day Farms just up the street in Louisville, GA. And the best part, it is not just a corn maze.  We will have a day packed with farm fun, from riding on the cow train to picking a pumpkin out of the patch to browsing all the fall produce.

The kids and I have been looking at old family photos and came across our best family pic. It was taken the weekend after Thanksgiving. We visited Stone Mountain and took a pic while at the top of the big rock. I am itching to recreate that pic. It would be nice to have a pic of everyone in the same pose as the one taken years ago and then one with all of our new family members: Taylor, Baby Aksel, and Becca’s BF Jacob. I have already planned a date for our trip to Atlanta.

It has been years since I have attended a college football game. In fact, I was still in college myself, Florida vs Ole Miss. And to be fair, I really did not see much of the game since I was working the concession stand as a fund raiser for my college softball team. I think it is time. Nathaniel and Taylor went to see his best friend play in the GA band and of course watch the football game last November. My husband and I would love to go see “E” with all of his red coat band mates and watch UGA and the rest of the dogs in action.

We love Halloween. It is actually my birthday. This holiday is always a family affair. The kids always had the coolest costumes. One year they did a creatures of the dark (vampires, vampiress, and werewolf)theme. However, we have never had a whole family themed costume.  I would love to do that including our little Aksel. We are a big fans of The Walking Dead. I think it would  be cool to to do a family of zombies.

We have already done a few Fall traditions: enjoying a Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte, making pumpkin bread, and s’mores by a fire. I would say we are well on our way to many fun fall memories. So, y’all get out there and make your own Fall Fun.

  1. This is a great list of fun things to do this fall. I’ve never tried carving a pumpkin. Maybe I should do this, too. Congratulations. I’m sure you are so excited about being a grandma. 🙂

  2. Omg! I love your Halloween pic, and think that it is great to have the entire family participate in dressing up! Great bucket list!

  3. I am always talking with my daughter about making a Summer bucket list but we never made one for Fall. Thanks for the idea, we would love to do some of these things as well.

  4. This is a wonderful list. I actually love this time of year. Fall is great! The weather is not to bad and the changing of the leaves is the best.

  5. I love the idea of a corn maze and I have to find one for my nieces. We are going to go pumpkin picking and then carve our pumpkins.

  6. We’ve got lost in corn mazes before. I think we’ll do it again this year. 🙂 Taking a retro pic sounds like a great idea. Hmm, thanks for the idea!

  7. It sounds like you enjoy fall as much as I do. This is the time of year when I drink endless Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte and take long lazy walks in the cooler air. I’ll have to try some of your suggestions.

  8. I’ve gotten the Apple Picking crossed off of my list so far, as well as the massive amounts of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I am excited to take the kids to other fall festivals and pick pumpkins this year.

  9. great Fall bucket list, those will definitely make some longterm happy memories for you : )
I have to go to an apple orchard and have hot apple cider a bunch of times each Fall, it’s a must!
