PIZZA NIGHT AT HOME

PIZZA NIGHT AT HOME Posted on August 14, 201615 Comments

Everyone loves pizza, at least that is how it is in my house. We live in the country, no where near a take out or delivery service. Usually the only time we have pizza is when one of us takes a trip into Augusta. Someone always texts,  “pizza please.” Well all of that changes tonight.

I am turning my kitchen into a pizza parlor, and my family will be the chefs. Make your own pizza night is a fun way to get your kids involved with dinner prep and is just a fun way to get your entire crew gathered in the kitchen. So, where do we start? What do I need to turn my kitchen into a my favorite pizza joint?PIZZA NIGHT AT HOME

The cool thing about this project is there are no directions. Whatever your family likes or you think will make an interesting topping is the right answer. You can go with the traditional: pepperoni, cheese, and marinara sauce. Maybe your family is a group of carnivores: meatballs, sausage, salami, bacon,  and ham. They might love a veggie option: onions, olives, peppers, and tomatoes. You could go exotic: white sauce, olive oil, roasted garlic, and spinach. I like a themed pizza: BBQ chicken or Hawaiian. The point is, the sky is the limit.

Tonight I chose to do a little bit of everything. Meats options are chicken, bacon, ham, pepperoni, salami, and Italian sausage. Vegetable options are  green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and black olives. The wild card ingredients are olive oil, roasted garlic, fresh mozzarella cheese, pepperocini peppers, and BBQ sauce. I even took it to another level with choices. I had three different types of crust: thin, Italian bread, and flat bread.

I got all the ingredients prepared and then called my wild bunch to the kitchen. Everyone had a different take on the perfect pie.

  1. We live in the country too and there is no pizza delivery service. I need to have a pizza night soon and try all your delicious looking recipes. Looks like there is something for everyone. Yum!

  2. This sounds like fun, we order pizza all the time. The kids would enjoy it a bit more if they had a chance to make their own.

I’m looking for fun things to do for our last week of summer. I’m adding this to the list for lunch. Thanks.

  3. We love make-your-own pizza dinners too, but I hadn’t thought of making bbq sauce an option as the sauce — I’m totally stealing that idea! Hubby will love it 🙂

  4. Ooooo how fun!!!! We love having pizza nights! It’s one of the few foods we all agree is yummy!

  5. These look great! Friday night is pizza night in our house, but usually it’s carry out or frozen. I might have to start making our own pizzas!

  6. We love doing pizza night in this house, always fun for kids to make there own and you can guarantee they eat it all because they made it. You have a lot of toppings there, ours usually consists of tomatoes, peppers, ham or chicken and sweetcorn haha (lazy I know)

  7. We love Pizza and Pizza nights where we make our own pizza. It’s always fun letting the kiddos make their own because they like different toppings.

  8. My family would love to do a pizza night like this! I will have to give it a try and see how it works.
