CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN FANS
We are a Christ centered home. All members of our immediate family are Christians. My family’s lives are Bible centered, and of course we are very involved in our church. Our church, The Cross Community Church (CCC), is a youth centered non-denominational family of believers. Our youth are in charge of most of our praise and worship in the services. CCC worship is filled with contemporary Christian music. I am even a proud mom of one of the earliest praise and worship bands. This church is where my son found his love for music and leading praise and worship.
This home is always filled with the tunes of many Contemporary Christian artists. I am a huge Francesca Bsttistelli fan. The lyrics, “Holy Spirit you are welcome here. Come flood this place and fill this atmosphere.” has gotten my through many trying times. My husband shows his rocker roots with his choice of Thousand Foot Crutch. My son says his favorite is Casting Crowns and he performs a ton of music by Jeremy Camp. Taylor says Matthew West would be her favorite. Strong Enough and More are anthems to her heart. Becca says she loves the News Boys. I have heard her belting out their hit song, “My God’s not dead, he’s truly alive. He’s living on the inside roaring like a lion.”
MICHAEL STILES DEBUT FULL LENGTH ALBUM BREATHE LIFE
So, you see we are truly a fan of Contemporary Christian music. That is why I was thrilled to have the opportunity to get the first listen to a new Christian artist. I was introduced to Michael Stiles music by one of my blogger friends. She was helping to launch his first full length album, Breathe Life, and my family was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of this new artist.
A couple night’s ago my husband and I sat down to listen to the album. I have to say it was a very good listen filled with beautiful music and heartfelt lyrics. There were up beat praise songs, and also beautiful worship ballads that are truly touching. My husband made a couple comparisons with popular artist. One and Only God was quite reminiscent of Crowder with full melodies and a vast array of instruments. In one of my favorite songs Matthew 6 reminded both my husband and I of Mercy Me. The beautiful lyrics and soul stirring piano makes it a truly touching worship song.
We enjoyed the whole album. It was a beautiful tribute to our Lord and even though we have never met the artist we could tell he truly has a heart for the Living God. I am excited to introduce this music to my pastor and the praise band.
