COFFEE AND ITS BENEFITS Posted on June 1, 20168 Comments

Last night marked the announcement of our very first giveaway winner! As you all know, I am a sucker for coffee, and this definitely helped us decide to give a Starbucks gift card away to our big winner. Coffee is the delicious drink that keeps me going, but that is not the only benefit it has. And, as a nurse, it is important to me that what I eat or drink has some sort of nutritional support. As I have learned more and more about coffee, I have found that it is actually prevents and lowers risks of several health problems, as well as help our bodies in other small ways. I a going to share some of my favorite benefits with you today to show you just how amazing my favorite drink is!

Coffee Helps Your Lose Weight

Caffeine is one of very few natural substances that will actually speed up your metabolism and cause you to burn fat. A cup of coffee in the morning can actually speed you metabolism up by as much as ten percent! This is why a cup of Joe is actually recommended each morning when you are dieting and exercising to lose weight.

It Can Help Protect From Diabetes

Diabetes infests Western civilization and even the world. Your chances of this massive health risk lower by as much as 20-50%! That is huge! Although no explanation can be found for this claim, a large amount of studies done show very clear evidence in those that drink a cup of coffee daily.

It Helps To Prevent Alzheimer’s

It was discovered that those that drink between  3 and  5 cups of coffee a day have a lower risk of getting Alzheimer’s. And it’s not a minor thing. Get this: it can lower your risk as much as 65%! If that doesn’t make you want to take a trip to Starbucks, I don’t know what will.

It Reduces Pain

Studies show that people that suffer from pain on a daily basis actually lower their pain level by drinking that cup of Joe. The chemical boost caffeine gives also releases endorphins that put people in a better mood and lower the pain they feel. This helps people work better and more efficiently.

It Reduces Stress

In most Americans, the smell of coffee makes them more relaxed. The scent and taste reduce stress, primarily felt by sleep deprivation. Between aroma therapy, the releasing of endorphins, and the energy boost it gives you, this super drink lowers your stress and makes you feel more at ease.

These health benefits are found among other advantages that include: increased liver and heart health, decreased the risk of Parkinson’s Disease, and reduced suicides.
